These terms apply to RootKeep: Offline Family Tree (“the app”), published on Google Play by identityKa under the Plainwharf name (“we”). By using the app you agree to them. The terms of the store you downloaded the app from also apply.

What the app is

RootKeep is a personal tool for recording a family tree. The tree contains what you enter or import; the app does not check it against any records. Relationship names are computed from the links in your tree and may not cover every regional usage. Printed charts and reports are not official documents.

Free plan and Pro

• The free plan has no ads. It includes all chart views, and GEDCOM import, viewing, editing and export for trees of any size; adding new people stops when the tree has 150 people. We will not make the free plan smaller for existing features after release.
• Pro is offered as a monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and in Google Play before you buy and may vary by country.
• The monthly subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play (in the app: Settings → Manage or cancel subscription). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its policies. Where local law gives you additional rights (for example a withdrawal right in the EU), those rights apply.
• To get Pro back on a new phone, use the same Google account and tap “Restore purchases” in Settings.

Your data and backups

Your tree is stored only on your device. We cannot see or recover it. Backups made by the app are kept on the same phone; uninstalling the app or losing the phone deletes them unless you have exported a GEDCOM or GEDZIP file somewhere else.

Acceptable use

Your tree may contain information about living people. Respect their privacy when you share files or printed charts, and follow the law that applies to you. Do not reverse engineer the app except where law allows.

Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law we give no warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, wrong relationship results, lost data or files that other programs read differently. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes and ending

We may update the app and these terms. If a change is significant we will show it in the app or on this page with a new date. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; export your tree first if you want to keep it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
