The report grade is not what my school expects

Open the class → Edit class → “Edit grading scale”. There you can change the pass mark, the step of report grades (whole, half, tenths), how an exact middle is rounded and the value of + and −. Category weights are in the class settings. You can also override a single report grade in the Report tab.

Importing a class list

In a class tap “Add students”. Paste names from a spreadsheet (one per line, “First Last” or “Last, First”), or choose a CSV file. Columns such as Name, Vorname, Nachname, Cognome, Nome, Nazwisko, Imię and Nr are recognised; you see a preview before anything is added.

Backups and moving to a new phone

Settings → Backup → “Back up now” creates one encrypted .gradebook file protected by a password you choose. Save it to your cloud drive or e-mail it to yourself. On the new phone install Gradenest, choose Settings → Backup → “Restore from backup” and enter the password. Without the password the backup cannot be opened, also not by us. The app reminds you every 14 days.

Forgotten PIN

The PIN cannot be reset, because the data is protected by it. Reinstall the app (this deletes the data on the phone) and restore your last backup.

New school year

Settings → “Start a new school year”. Choose which classes to take along; their students, grading scale and categories move to the new year, grades and attendance stay in the old one. With Pro the old year is kept as an archive you can open from Settings; without Pro it is deleted, so make a backup first.

Restoring Pro

Use the same Google account on the new phone and tap Settings → Restore purchases.

Cancelling a subscription

Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Gradenest → Cancel. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
