PhotoDim (“the app”) lets you write measurements on photos. It has no user accounts and no server of its own. This policy explains what stays on your device and the little that leaves it.
In short
- Your photos, measurements, projects, client names, addresses, notes and checklists are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
- The app does not collect usage statistics or crash reports and contains no analytics or advertising SDK.
- If you buy Pro, Google Play handles the payment and RevenueCat checks the purchase.
- No advertising, no advertising ID, no selling or sharing of data.

Data stored on your device
Photos you add are copied into the app's private storage. Measurements, project details (name, client, address, notes), checklists and settings are saved in a database in the same private storage. Photos are not uploaded anywhere.
This data leaves your device only when you share it: for example when you share a PNG, JPEG, PDF report, CSV table or backup file through the system share menu. Where it goes then is your choice, and the receiving app's or service's privacy policy applies. Photos can contain location data (EXIF) written by your camera; the app does not read or use it, and exported PNG/JPEG images are newly drawn files without the original EXIF location.
Automatic backup (Pro)
If you turn it on, the app writes a backup file at most once a week to its own folder on your phone (Android/data/com.identityka.photodim/files/Backups, the last 3 are kept). The file stays on the phone and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Permissions

The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage permissions. “Camera” opens your phone's own camera app, which hands back only the photo you take; “Gallery” uses the Android photo picker, which gives the app only the photos you choose. Backup files are opened through the system file picker.
Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat)
Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play; we never see your payment card or Google account details. The app uses RevenueCat, Inc. to verify purchases and restore them on a new phone. RevenueCat receives a random app user identifier, the purchase token and product, price, currency and country/store, and basic device information (such as operating system and app version), and keeps purchase records as needed to provide the service and for accounting. Photos, measurements and project details are never part of this. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Purchase verification: performance of the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your photos and measurements are processed only on your device. RevenueCat and Google may process data in the United States; they rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Deleting your data
- Delete projects, photos and measurements in the app.
- Uninstalling the app, or Android Settings → Apps → PhotoDim → Storage → Clear data, deletes everything the app stored, including automatic backups. Files you exported stay where you put them.
- There is no account to delete. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, see Delete your data.
Children
The app is a general tool for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, KVKK or US state privacy laws) you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not hold your photos or measurements and have no accounts, most of these rights are exercised directly in the app. For anything else write to support@plainwharf.com.
Changes
We will update this page when the app's data handling changes and show the new date above. If a future version sends any data from your device (for example optional usage statistics), it will be described here before that version is released and, where required, will ask for your consent first.
